There are a few things you can do to tan without burning. The first is to make sure you use a sunscreen with an SPF of at least 15. The second is to gradually build up your tan so that your skin has time to adjust to the sun exposure. Finally, it’s best to avoid the midday sun as this is when the UV rays are strongest.  If you’re using sunbeds, it’s recommended that you start using a maximum of 6 minutes, working your way up to a maximum of 15 minutes (depending on your skin type).  You should use sunbeds no more than 3 times per week and leave 24 hours between sessions.
