A sunbed burn usually peaks at around 24 hours. However, it can take a few days for the full effect of the burn to show up. That’s because it takes time for the skin to react to the UV exposure by becoming red and inflamed. If you have a sunbed burn, you can try using a cool compress or taking a pain reliever like ibuprofen to help relieve the discomfort.  Reputable sunbed salons will ensure your skin doesn’t burn by checking your skin type and offering a suitable minutes accordingly.  Regardless of whether you have darker skin, we would recommend you start with no more than 6 minutes if you’re using sunbeds for the first time.
