Yes, sunburn will turn to tan, at least until the upper layer of your skin peels. Even then, the layer beneath may be somewhat tanned. But you should avoid getting sunburn at all costs as it can cause long-term damage to your skin. If you do get sunburn, the best thing to do is to cover up with clothing or sunscreen and get out of the sun as soon as possible.  We would recommend tanning in a controlled environment like a sunbed salon as opposed to traditional sunbathing.  Responsible salons will ensure you don’t the recommended tanning duration, according to your skin type, which will reduce the likelihood of sunburn.
